How it started in Port Harcourt
In January 2019, Dr. Chidinma Ohadoma's father collapsed at home. He had unknowingly lived with severe hypertension for years. By the time he reached the hospital, his heart had already begun to fail. He passed within 72 hours.
"The tragedy was wholly preventable. A ₦500 blood pressure check would have identified the risk. A community health worker would have connected him to care."
— Chidinma Ohadoma, FounderDr. Chidinma gathered seven colleagues — doctors, nurses, a pharmacist, and two community health workers — and founded CarePathNG in the same quarter. Their mission: fight the silent epidemic of undiagnosed chronic illness quietly devastating Nigerian families.
What started as Saturday screening days at Mile 1 Market has since grown into a nationally operating non-profit reaching all 36 states, 48 certified lab partners, and over 12,500 lives screened.
